Minderoo Group is again calling for public feedback on the latest series of architectural renders for the Indiana site at Cottesloe Beach.

In August, after a month ofcommunity consultation, the competition narrowed to two possible new designsfor the site; Kerry Hill Architects (KHA) and Durbach Block Jaggers (DBJ).Refitting the existing Indiana building is also an option.

KHA and DBJ were asked toprovide new architectural renders and additional supporting documentation toexpand on their proposals for the site. The architects have made improvementsto their submissions based on the judges’ feedback and the public’ssuggestions.

The new images can be viewed online or in person at a series of community consultation sessions Minderoo will be running across Perth in coming weeks.

Minderoo Group co-founderNicola Forrest AO said the next stage of the process is another opportunity forthe people of Western Australia to provide their vision for the future of awell-loved location in Cottesloe Beach.

“We understand that manyWest Australians are keen to have their say on the future of the Indiana siteand we are pleased with the engagement in this process so far,” Mrs Forrestsaid.

“People have told us theywant to walk straight off the sand to grab something to eat with their kids.Others want to have a drink while enjoying our famous sunset.

“We’re working with thecommunity and the Town of Cottesloe to provide options that showcase ourbeautiful coastline and reinvigorate the area for locals and tourists alike.”

“This is the final stage ofthe competition before the jury makes its decision, so we’d like to encourageeveryone to get involved and tell us what they think.”

Both of the new designsinclude swimming pools, improved public facilities and a host of hospitalityofferings. Given the design and positioning of the existing building, theamenity provided by a refit would be limited.

The competition jury, led byrenowned WA architect Geoffrey London, will meet in October to consider the newinformation provided by the finalists. A decision on the future of the sitewill be announced next month.

Minderoo Group will then begin work on the planning process with the Town of Cottesloe. This will involve further community consultation.

Please note that as of 13 May 2020, Minderoo Group formally changed its name to Tattarang.
